The FINNZ name stands for ‘FishServe Innovations New Zealand’. FINNZ was established in 2003 to leverage the technology and fisheries expertise of our parent company, FishServe (www.fishserve.co.nz). FishServe delivers the administrative services required to manage the data to give effect to New Zealand’s Quota Management System (QMS). These services include quota and catch entitlement allocation, licensing of fishers and vessels, capture and validation of catch data and catch accounting. These services were previously provided by New Zealand’s Ministry of Fisheries and were outsourced to FishServe in 1998.
FishServe has invested in people, technology and process to ensure that these services are delivered in a cost effective manner whilst ensuring the timely and accurate collection of data.
By replicating this success, FINNZ has been able to provide similar services to government organisations charged with managing Natural Resources, the Environment and Heritage. We have delivered solutions for agencies in New Zealand, the wider Pacific, Australia and the Middle East.
